On My Nightstand / 1

Let’s just say that I have been a little “library crazy” this week. After studying for exams with a friend there for five hours (we also had lunch in between…and had an amazing time), I picked a few books up. Then, I made an impromptu stop at a more local library and actually went crazy by picking up every book that looks remotely interesting…and I ended up with about ten. All in all, I have been reading like crazy.

Reader’s Digest Foods that Harm Foods that Heal – A go to guide for everything from cancer fighting foods to the benefits of chocolate, this book has tons of information that is sure to help you rethink what you put in your mouth.

Teen Vogue – This is one of my favorite magazines. I didn’t use to like it, but I love the fashion forward approach that it has, but translated for a, well…teen.

The Dim Sum of all Things – A humorous story of a Asian-American who lives in San Francisco living with her oh so Asian grandmother and tells her story of breaking away from the stereotypes.

A New Retail Therapy Obsession

I have heard about Zara many times through other blogs and simply all around the internet. It wasn’t until last week when I visited their site that I fell in love myself. The clothes are chic, trendy, and a tad eclectic (think Urban Outfitters, but more European). They are in fact a European brand, which just adds to my love, and the clothes are actually very well made. I purchased the classic linen top shown below last week and I am obsessed. Being the sucker for packaging that I am, when the shirt arrived at my door step wrapped in teal tissue (not a plastic bag straight from the factory), I was thrilled. All in all, you definitely need to check this place out. Below are some of my favorites from the site.

Zara Love

1. Lace dress, $80 – can you say versatile. wedding, dinner, you name it.
2. Mesh sweetheart dress, $60 – casual and flirty. perfect for summer.
3. Classic linen top, $26 – enough said.
4. Romantic lace blouse, $40 – unique and out of my comfort zone, for some reason I am drawn.

Eco-Beauty for…Earth Day?!

Let’s face it, whenever someone says “earth day” we all frown upon the idea of going outside with all the bugs and hot sun and digging holes to plant trees or something laborious like that. Well, I also bet you didn’t know that earth day can be quite fabulous and you can be doing good while sitting in the comfort of your home…or your makeup vanity. Anyway, happy Earth Day and enjoy theses planet-friendly picks!

The Tragic Tunic

Well, this shirt sure does have a tragic story… when I first spotted the shirt (shown below), on the J. Crew website, it passed my mind and I just kept on looking. Then, I could not get the “mysterious” shirt out of my head. I had forgotten where I had seen it and I just imagined its spot in my closet, not to mention with my favorite denim shorts. I searched and searched and searched, until, tah dah, I found it. Then, it got sold out, but to my luck, it ended up somehow reappearing. It should arrive tomorrow and I cannot wait to try it on! Here is how I plan to style it…
