This Week’s Simple Face

I have really been loving looking into what makeup people wear on a regular basis. I think it really helps you figure out what they’re actually using. Here is my face this week…

Lancome La Base Primer
Jouer Matte Moisture Tint in Linen applied with Real Techniques Stippling Brush
Jemma Kidd Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Cream in Rose Gold on cheekbones and eyes
NARS Outlaw blush
Great Lash Clear on brows
Dior Lash Plumping Serum
Maybelline Full’ n Soft Mascara

Please tell me if you actually enjoy these posts. What have you been wearing recently?

Bits and Bobs Haul

I hope that you all had a relaxing weekend. Thankfully, the weather has gotten colder outside and (for some reason) I like to buy more things….forget that, I just like to buy things all the time.

Here are some things I have gotten recently (over about a month). I will do a review of some of the products, but if you would like to see a review of something in particular  just leave comment.

Kiehl’s Fig Leaf and Sage Body Wash and Lotion
Just a few samples some very nice lady gave me and my accompanier as we *tried* to act totally professional.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm
Review done here.

NARS blush in Outlaw
This was a total impulse buy, for I have been wanting Doucer foreva, but I had a 20% off coupon at Sephora and they didn’t have Doucer! My friend was also getting a NARS blush and she just made me want to get something with the packaging. This was part of the Autumn/Winter collection, so I figured the timing couldn’t be more perfect. Review coming soon!

Dior Best in Show Lash Amplifying Duo
I have been really wanting to try the Lash Plumping Serum, and I figured this could be the best way to try it while also getting a new mascara as well.

The Body Shop Morrocan Rose Body Mist
This was featured in my Rose Obsession post (which is linked here). If you like roses, you got to get this!

Philosophy’s Hot Buttered Rum Body Gel
I have run out of all of shower gel, and this just smelled so good! I have really been loving Philosophy products lately.

Yes to Carrots Nourishing Night Cream
I have been using this on my cheeks at night (as the name suggests), and I quite like it. Especially, since the weather is getting colder. If you have dry skin, you will really like this.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey
This was in my October favorites, but ever since then, I just haven’t been wearing it that much. We’ll see…

How To / All Over Bronze

I have to admit, until a few weeks ago, I was terribly terrified by bronzer. But once I realized how to use and how good it actually looked on my skin, I was sold and now I just cannot get enough. Here is a little tutorial on how to get that all over bronzed look. Trust me…it is a lot easier than it seems!
Bronzer 101
1 / Use a matte bronzer this is really important. You do not want to look like you have sparkles all over your face! You can use one with a little bit of shimmer in it (like NARS Laguna), but really be conscious of this. I use the NYC smooth skin bronzer in sunny. I love it because it is not orange, but a bit more brown (kind of similar to the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil). It is great, not to mention available at the drugstore and for no more that $3.
2 / Apply where the sun would naturally hit an easy way to remember where to apply is by using the “3” method. The three goes from the outside of your brows, down onto your cheek bones, and then down to get to the jaw line. Another natural place that you want to add it is directly down the nose. Oh, and don’t forget the neck!
3 / Use a fluffy brush this is important. Unless you are using bronzer to contour, you want to use a really fluffy brush so that everything is blended and even. In fact, I use my powder brush (which I doubt is the best, but oh well)!

Fall Nail Trend Report

I must admit, when nails go past sheer beiges and pinks, it is not usually my cup of tea. Although this is the case, the colors below are just so gorgeous and I would love to wear them any way, shoes, skirts, or even nails! Let me prepare you for this one…Fall is my favorite season of all. In that case, be prepared for much more Fall posts to come. Here are some of my favorite fall nails.

Get Glowing / Highlighter Comparison

With so many different kinds of highlighters out there, it’s hard to figure out which one to use. This post, a request, in fact, will show you the ropes on some of the industry’s most well known. I hope you enjoy and get glowing!
Highlighter Comparison

Benefit Girl Meets Pearl / a new purchase of mine, this peachy pink highlighter is one of the more natural ones. The liquid and gel like consistency makes it easy to blend and easy to use. I love the golden pink shimmer that this highlighter gives while still looking natural and not greasy. This color pretty much looks good on all skin tones.
MAC Soft and Gentle / a favorite of my best friend and fellow blogger, this highlighter is a soft golden cream shimmer that comes in powder form and is easily blend-able. It is also build-able and gives that nice “soft and gentle” glow.
NARS Albatross / this also powdered highlighter adds that nice natural glow without any other added color or effect. Not glittery or sparkly at all (as is the case for the other highlighters), although this one is white, it does not make you look ashy, but it still would look better on lighter skin tones.
*disclaimer: i have not tried any other highlighters except the Benefit one. I created this post through much research and personal opinions.
