Dior Best in Show Lash Amplifying Duo | Review

The fact that this was on my wish list (and then bought it a day later) tells you something, eh?

With my lashes, the biggest problem I have is with volume, for my lashes are relatively long. For $20, you get a mini size of DiorShow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum (which is basically why bought this) and a DiorShow mascara.

The mascara is okay (for, it doesn’t give as much volume as Maybelline Full’n Soft, which I love) and it is more lengthening, but the real winner is the serum. I LOVE it! I’m not sure if it’s “holy grail”, but it’s pretty close. I have been using it everyday and it gives my lashes so much more volume, while still making my lashes not look clumpy or hard, just perfect.

Here’s a picture of the brushes. I’m not going to talk too much about the mascara, because I don’t really like it (by the way, it’s scented like the Dior perfume). The brush of the serum has many small bristles that work great at coating each and every lash completely with the perfect about of serum.

Overall, I think I’m in love…with this serum. I may just have to bring myself to by the full size…

Bits and Bobs Haul

I hope that you all had a relaxing weekend. Thankfully, the weather has gotten colder outside and (for some reason) I like to buy more things….forget that, I just like to buy things all the time.

Here are some things I have gotten recently (over about a month). I will do a review of some of the products, but if you would like to see a review of something in particular  just leave comment.

Kiehl’s Fig Leaf and Sage Body Wash and Lotion
Just a few samples some very nice lady gave me and my accompanier as we *tried* to act totally professional.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm
Review done here.

NARS blush in Outlaw
This was a total impulse buy, for I have been wanting Doucer foreva, but I had a 20% off coupon at Sephora and they didn’t have Doucer! My friend was also getting a NARS blush and she just made me want to get something with the packaging. This was part of the Autumn/Winter collection, so I figured the timing couldn’t be more perfect. Review coming soon!

Dior Best in Show Lash Amplifying Duo
I have been really wanting to try the Lash Plumping Serum, and I figured this could be the best way to try it while also getting a new mascara as well.

The Body Shop Morrocan Rose Body Mist
This was featured in my Rose Obsession post (which is linked here). If you like roses, you got to get this!

Philosophy’s Hot Buttered Rum Body Gel
I have run out of all of shower gel, and this just smelled so good! I have really been loving Philosophy products lately.

Yes to Carrots Nourishing Night Cream
I have been using this on my cheeks at night (as the name suggests), and I quite like it. Especially, since the weather is getting colder. If you have dry skin, you will really like this.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey
This was in my October favorites, but ever since then, I just haven’t been wearing it that much. We’ll see…

Rose Obsession

I used to hate *repeat* hate rose scented things. Don’t say I’m crazy, but now, I just can’t get enough! Here are my favorite rose products.

The Body Shop’s Moroccan Rose Body Mist
This scent was introduced to me by Elizabeth over at Wunderkind and the minute I smelled it, I just couldn’t get enough. I spray this on my clothes, hair, body, room, pretty much everywhere and probably more than I should. It is rosy, but it has a little bit of a musky undertone so it’s not too girly.

Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter
Smells like roses, looks really pretty, is really moisturizing, could you ask for anything more?

L’Occitaine Desert Rose Hand Cream
I’m rationing off every last bit of this, for it was limited edition, but it smells like roses and is super moisturizing.

Melvita Rose Water Mist
I like using this as a setting spray or as a mid-day refresher. I really want to try more Melvita stuff, but I have to get my skin under control first.

LUSH Turkish Delight Body Smoothie
Moisturizing (let’s not even go into the smell). Besides telling you that I really really want to buy the full size of this, I’m saving the sample container so I can open it and just smell it all the time. What else are you supposed to do with this?

Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector
I’m sure you guys are all probably desperately sick of hearing me talk about this, but the color is called rose shimmer (and I may or may not have just wanted to take a picture of the packaging again.

what are your favorite rose products?

Shopping the Stash

I’ve seen quite a lot of posts like these, but maybe I shall rephrase this – shopping my MOM’S stash. Okay, let’s be honest, I may or may not have taken a few products from here uhuhmmm-stash-humhh. Just take a look below and I’m sure you’d do the same thing. Some things are mine, but some are hers. I’ll just specify below.

Chanel Tweed Blush
Did ya see that title? CHANEL! Yup, that’s what it said. I haven’t really used this yet, but from what I can tell by swatching and stuff, it is not pigmented at all. It is a little shimmery, maybe it would be better as a highlighter, but for now I’ll just keep it and lust over the packaging for a while.

MAC Peaches Blush
I feel like I hear every blogger, youtuber, pretty much everything I waste my time on, talk about this. It is a gorgeous, gorgeous blush. I used it today and so far I really like it. It is quite brightening, but I will keep you posted on how I get on. (Oh, this was my mom’s).

Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in Navajo
This is a bit white, but I feel like this could make a really pretty inner corner highlight. Again, I’ll tell you how I get on with this. I’m not a huge fan of really stark shadows, but maybe this one will be good.

Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Balm
I honestly think I just forgot about this. I just slapped it on right before I took these pictures and I know now that I will be getting a lot of use out of this. If you haven’t tried any of these lip balms – YOU GOT TO!

The Balm’s Mary Loumanizer
I got this in my Birchbox, I just haven’t really used this. The texture is really buttery and smooth and you can use this as a shadow as well. It looks a bit like Stila’s kitten, but we’ll see.

MAC  eyeshadow in Soba
I already love this, but I just haven’t worn it in a while. I’m definitely going to start wearing this again because it is just really pretty. I really (okay, I just said that) want to get some more MAC eyeshadows, but two more weeks baby, two more!

Well, that’s it! What are some products you haven’t worn in a while that you want to wear again?

Night Time Almond Richness | Burt’s Bee Hand Creme

For some reason, whenever the winter weather turns the corner my hands – okay, it may just be in my head – but they are just begging for a little moisture. This not only seems to fit the docket, but every time I use, I love it more and more.

First off, this is a SUPER THICK hand creme. This is not something you would want to put on right before you…eat dinner? You get the point. Like I said, it is really thick and rich (hence the title), but it is perfect for night time.

Second, if you haven’t noticed, I have an obsession with how things smell. If something doesn’t smell good – I aint buyin’ it! Well, this sure doesn’t disappoint. For those of you know what rainbow cookies are (those rainbow squares with chocolate), this smells exactly like those! Unfortunately, you can’t find the cookies where I love so this hand creme is the perfect step in. But don’t worry, I’m not eating this!

Overall, this is a great hand creme! It is $9 (which some may say is a bit pricey), but the packaging is gorgeous, it will last you a really long time (I think I’ve had mine for over a month and I still have a lot left), and it’s really great!

I would like to note that I think I deserve a round of applause for making it almost all the way through most of my body products. I do have a few quarter full bits left here and there, but they should be done soon. Then you know what happens? Haul! A well deserved one that is.

Ojon Rub-Out Dry Cleanser
I stole this from my mom whilst I was in desperate need of a dry shampoo. She had this one and a Tressemme (which I found did nothing, I might add), this one solved my problem. My only complaint is the scent. It is sooo strong and quite sickly. I wouldn’t buy it again, but I thought this was pretty good.

V05 Daily Leave in Conditioner
This is by far the best leave in conditioner I have tried. I tried an Aussie one once and it was okay, but this one beats that. I used to spray this on my hair in the morning when I would wake up with serious bed-head hair and it worked really well. I have been using this after I wash my hair everyday and it does miracles. I recently bought the Tressemme Split End Remedy spray and I like this much better, partly because it is a much finer mist.

John Frieda Root Awakening Shampoo and Conditioner
This may be better for someone who doesn’t have serious dry scalp problems because it smells really, really nice, but for me, it just didn’t do the trick. I wouldn’t even say it helps a bit, but (like I said), it smells good.

Yes to Cucumbers Calming Night Cream
This is an amazing cream! It is super moisturizing and I found that it did decrease the redness in my skin! I don’t really have much more to say about it – it’s just that good. I would definitely buy this again, but at the moment I’ve moved onto a thicker cream.

Philosophy Twinkle Berry Body Lotion
This smelled pretty good (which I find all the Philosophy products do) and it was about okay on the moisture level. I couldn’t use it alone (I would layer this on top of my LUSH massage bar for extra moisture). This was part of the holiday collection last year, so I’m not sure if you can get it anywhere.

Philosophy Marshmallow Fluff Body Lotion and Shower Gel
First off, this may be the most amazing thing I have EVER  smelled! It smells like marshmallow, but caramel, but with some extra sugar, with some vanilla, butter, etc. The body lotion pretty much mimics the review above, but the shower gel was really good. It was really foamy and was quite rich. I would definitely buy this again if I could find it, but I love trying new body lotions and gels so I think I’ll leave this to be for now.

LUSH Turkish Delight Shower Smoothie
This is just a sample, but I would without a doubt buy the full size (if shipping weren’t so darn much). If you like roses, you are going to LOVE  this! I’m saving the container just so I can smell it all the time!

Benefit The Porefessional Primer
Again, this is just a sample, but I found it worked quite well. I don’t have problems with pores, but it did keep my foundation looking fresh for quite some time.

ANOTHER Beauty Wishlist

Let’s be honest…did you really expect me to go a month without a wishlist post? Yup, that’s what I thought. Half the fun in buying new beauty products is looking at them all, eh?

November Wishlist

1 / Dior Lash Plumping Serum and DiorShow minis After seeing EssieButton talk about the lash plumping serum nonstop, what can I say, I just have to try it! Pluuusss – I need a new mascara. What could be more perfect?

2 / Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentrè In the “beauty blogger world”, it seems like everyone and the cat’s best friend (that’s not the saying at all), talks about this. This hydrating creme is good for all skin types, works as a moisturizer, primer, and makeup remover, and (well…let me not go into how it originates in France).

3 / Dior Addict Lipstick For some reason, I really really want a lipstick…but this one doesn’t look like one! Could the packaging be any prettier (if you haven’t realized, I’m a sucker for packaging), and it’s Dior. The only thing – I can’t decide which color I want…

4 / Korres Guava Shower Gel As I’m forcing myself to get through all my old bath & body products, I need some incentive, eh? I smelled this while I was in Sephora last week and it smells delicious. Either this or the rose one – again, I just can’t decide.

5 / Dior Rosy Glow Awakening Blush This is three Dior products in one wishlist, people! Obviously this isn’t very realistic, but a girl can dream… This blush adjusts to your own skin tone and (again) look at that packaging.

6 / REN Tonic Moisture Mist I have really been into skincare stuff recently, and coinciding with my recent Hyaluronic Acid post, this seems like the perfect solution for my thirst-quenching skin.
