Day to Night / Lace Skirt

I recently purchased a cream colored lace skirt while I was in NY. I loved how the simple shape paired with the elegant lace. Now, I consider a skirt like this a basic, worn in every season from winter to summer. Here is how I would style it for summer/fall.
Day to Night : Lace Skirt
Day / since the lace is already so intricate, pair it with a solid colored top. I like this neutral, comfortable grey tee. The leather bag adds a near masculine touch to the very feminine skirt which I love. Of course, I love the look of a classic pair of sneakers which just scream “day casual” to me while still looking chic. I love the pop the bright pink geometric necklace adds to the outfit. Last but not least, I love the fishtail braid.
Night / since the lace skirt is so elegant, I decided to go a step further with a purple, silk, tie-neck top. A classic pair of shoes, an elegant bangle,  and a sparkly clutch add to the look. The addition of a bright pinkish-plum lip finishes off the look with a touch of sheer color.

Day to Night / Striped Tee

With summer travelling and busy schedules, it’s nice to have that one versatile item in your wardrobe that you can transform from day to night. In this case, the striped tee. The striped tee is such a versatile piece that should be the “little black dress” of your wardrobe, especially for summer.

Day to Night : Striped Tee

Day / for day, whether your traveling or just walking around town, keep comfortable. Since the striped tee is such a classic piece, you don’t need very much to style it. Add a comfy pair of sneakers for a playful yet chic vibe and a neutral pair of shorts for a sophisticated touch. Add a pop of color with a bag and a simple necklace to pull the whole look together…not to mention sunglasses.

shorts / lace up sneaker / leather satchel / necklace / sunglasses

Night / because the tee is so simple, you can pretty much pair it with anything. I love the idea of it paired with a bright pencil skirt. Is there any other better combination that black and red? Throw on a special bib necklace for some extra sparkle and also a studded clutch for some extra pizzaz. Finish it all off with a neutral shoe and a dark, plum/red lip color.

skirt / platform sandals / leather clutch / bib necklace / lip treatment

tips and where to get your own

***When wearing one of these fabulous hair accessories, try to keep things more romantic or laid back. Don’t go for those stick-straight locks that some of you are used to. For those who have the straight naturally, just mess your hair up a bit or through in some texturizing spray.

Summer Celebrating

Hoorah! Today is officially the first day of summer! Summer brings many new things. From popsicles outside to switching up your everyday routine, summer calls more many new additions. I am going to try to help you all out with some of your new additions. As you know, I am newly subscribed to Birchbox and I am super excited. What I love about the site is how they test every product and bring you only the best of the best. Below are some of the products that, I agree, are truely the best, but also below are going to be some products that I am hoping to try out. Enjoy, and, happy first day of summer! Spend the evening outside or hit up the beach, just enjoy those 14 hours and 37 minutes of day light!

products we both love…

Juicy Couture – Juicy Couture Fragrance : a chic, fragrance with top notes of watermelon, passion fruit, and mandarin combine with bright whiffs of marigold and green apple. Rose, vanilla, and yummy caramel undertones anchor the scent. Perfect for everyday or a night out, this will definitely be  your go to fragrance for all your seasons and events.

Larabar : with 9 ingredients max per bar, forget those fillers and preservatives and learn that a delicious snack can be all natural…even with flavors like carrot cake, apple pie, chocolate chip cookie dough, and peanut butter cookie (my favorite).

Luna Bar : if you haven’t noticed already, I am obsessed with bars. These yummy ones pack tons of essential vitamins and nutrients that your body needs all under 200 calories and with delicious flavors (i adore the chocolate peppermint stick and the chocolate dipped coconut).

Viva la Juicy Fragrance : a head turning floral and fruity fragrance that will without-a-doubt make you feel more than glamourous. Top notes of wild berries and sweet mandarin flirt with lady-like middle notes of honeysuckle, jasmine, and gardenia. Warm base notes of caramel, amber, vanilla, sandalwood, and praline hover beneath it all.

products i hope to try soon (in my box)…

Boscia Green Tea Blotting Papers : these all natural blotting papers soak up excess oil and sweat without smearing your makeup. Perfect for girls on the go (or us dancers).

Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream : forget the coffee and get up already! Luckily for you, with  the addition of this eye cream the fast-absorbing formula minimizes dark circles, deflates puffiness, and boosts hydration.

The Balm – Stainiac : this two-in-one lip and cheek stain gives us a natural, understated flush and helps us get out the door faster. The gel formula looks dark in the tube but delivers a sheer tint. It comes in three shades that complement all skin tones: Beauty Queen is a magenta-toned pink, Prom Queen is a lovely rose pink, and Homecoming Queen is a dewy peach.

Yes to Blueberries Brightening Facial Towelettes : these sweet-smelling towelettes are designed to a) remove makeup, b) cleanse skin or c) moisturize.

Benefit High Beam : a perpetual award winner, Benefit’s High Beam subtly highlights and enhances your features — a necessity when you want to draw a little extra attention.

Jouer Lip Enhancer : it’s deeply moisturizing, smells amazing, and delivers the prettiest hint of sheer pink color. The best part? It minimizes the appearance of fine lines and boosts your lips naturally without that annoying tingly sensation found in so many other plumpers.

Style Guide / Greece

For this post, we will be examining the one and only…Greece! With the Mediterranean sea and the beachy, chic, laid back style, this is sure to be a destination where your style will be a favorite. Here it is…

Greece Street Style

1. Greek girls are beautiful, but learn to accentuate it in every way / How you take this fact to heart can be different. Some may say that it means you go all natural and don’t do anything to go overboard. You can also interprete it as really taking time to choose your makeup and clothes to fit your body. Either way, both are important and this one trait is what makes every Greek “goddess” look flawless.

2. Feminine is the wat to go / When Greek girls are beautiful just the way they are, they will do nothing to hide it, but in the most modest and humble way possible. Thus, they dress like a woman, feminine, chic, and perfectly effortless.

3. Think about what you have on your feet / This means no flip flops. Although they are easy, flip flops are very…American. Although this may leave some of us in the dirt, just think of all the other ways that we can dress our feet without looking American. Think sandals, ballet flats, and boots.

4. Lighten Up / Since Greece is always usually pretty warm, wear light, gauzy clothing. Linens, silks, and gauzes are sure to help you fit in.
