For the second look in the Lisa Eldridge inspired fall makeup trend report: EYE DRAMA / updated colorful smokey eye.
Now, since you all know my style as natural and effortless, my take on this trend will definitely follow the same guideline. If you are someone who wants to get the exact same look that was done in the editorial, you can watch Lisa’s video here. Now, as we get into my take on it, you can really do it two different ways. You can put the color into the eyeliner aspect of the eye, or in the shadow, similarly to how Lisa did it. Either way, you want to start with a black base to make the colors pop. Next, the color! Start with a deep teal shade in the middle of the eye. Next, a bright emerald green in the inner lid, a vibrant blue on the outer lid, a plum-y purple on the outer part of the lower lash line, a cherry red on the middle lower lash line, and (last but not least) an icy silver in the inner corner. If you were to do this as eyeliner, do your normal smokey eye, using the colors above on top of your normal liner (starting with black underneath). If you were to use the color on the lid only, start with a black shadow as a base and use the colors above regularly as shadow. As for the rest of the face, keep everything neutral. Add a pink blush to contrast the bold eye and keep the lip nude or tone it down with a lighter nude balm, gloss, or lipstick. Get coloring!
