Lush Handmade Cosmetics

I have heard so many great things about Lush, but since there is not one in my hometown, I definitely made it a priority to stop there while I was in NYC. Luckily for me, there was a store only about a block away from the apartment. Filled with a friendly staff who is more that willing to show you the ropes through the store filled with a near overwhelming (in a good way) amount of products or just to give you a little TLC.

Their new line Emotional Brilliance is one reason to stop there. Almost like palm reader, the staff will take you on a journey through color. For those of you who understand, my colors were (in order): Bubbly, Happiness, and Sophisticated. Even if you do not understand what the colors mean, you can still pick up a bottle of your own wearable color here. The colors are amazing and you can use them for almost anything from eyeliner to blush.

Also while I was there, I was able to try a few products that are at the top of my wish list…

1 / Ocean Salt  “Washing with Ocean Salt is like taking your face on a trip to the seaside for an invigorating splash in the water. We mix in fresh avocado and coconut to hydrate thirsty skin, while the antibacterial effects of lime and vodka is ideal for blocked pores, blackheads or blemishes. The minerals in sea salt soften as it scrubs away dirt and blockages.”

2 / Dream Cream  “Our number one, best-selling product of all time, Dream Cream contains every ingredient nature makes for soothing sore skin. It transforms suffering bodies into states of peace with our calming blend of oat milk, lavender and chamomile to care for irritations, reduce redness, and banish blotches. Olive oil and cocoa butter are perfectly suited and incredibly effective for dry or chapped skin, and especially gentle for even the most sensitive types.”

3 / Lemony Flutter “We made Lemony Flutter to soften your dry, cracked cuticles and nourish your nails; it’s our thickest, zestiest cream yet.Fresh lemons are put into an infusion and lovingly blended in our rich butter base to brighten skin and lighten nails. Each batch contains twenty-two pounds of beeswax and cold-pressed avocado oil to moisturize and soften your skin.”

4 / Honey I Washed the Kids Soap “You’ll inhale, drool, pick up a big chunk and immediately want to wash yourself all over with it. It’s so gentle, buttery and scrumptious you’ll have a hard time keeping it to yourself. The honey water and aloe are so softening and moisturizing, you can use our toffee-scented sensation on the whole family.”
